Emergency Service Program for Women with Children
Suggested Items for Baskets of Love
One of Union Mission’s main goals for the women that are enrolled in Magdalene’s Emergency Services Program (ESP) is to obtain stable housing. Some women transition out of Magdalene’s ESP and directly into their own private apartment or subsidized housing. Other women may move their family into the Tom D. Austin Transitional Housing for formerly homeless families where they can stay up to two years while they work toward stability. Regardless of where the mothers move with their families after Magdalene – transitional or permanent – they all lack basic household items that will help them get through the first few weeks of a stressful transition. Baskets of Love filled with various household items that can ease this transition can be given to mothers as they leave Magdalene and move into their new home. What an amazing housewarming gift from generous and compassionate donors!
These are just suggestions –please include any basic items you think a new home owner would need!
